Provide a detailed response to each of the following essay questions. You should answer the questions by discussing relevant works from class. Use specific details throughout. You must talk about different works for each question.

1. We have seen a number of objects and spaces associated with royalty and/or rulers in the second half of the semester. Pick three images (objects or spaces/buildings) that were specifically associated with royalty or a royal context. Describe each image fully and explain the specific ways in which they reflect or reference their creation for royalty. Are there any commonalities that you see in your selected images that seem related to their common connection to royalty?

2. A theme in many works we looked at throughout the semester has been cross-cultural interactions and the traces of those cross cultural interactions on visual objects. Pick three images from the second half of the class from at two different cultures. Describe the ways in which each image reflects cross cultural interaction and explain the specific larger historical or artistic context that allowed this interaction to occur.

3. Pick two images from class that represent royal/ruler propaganda. Explain the meaning and message of each image thoroughly and address the ways in which it was intended to make a political statement.
