Throughout this course, you will have many opportunities to respond to other people’s opinions and comments. After you have completed the Reading for the week, respond to the questions below. Overcoming Barriers to Perception

Perception involves how we think and feel about the world around us. However, our self-concept deals with how we think and feel about whom and what we are. Our self-concept, much like our perceptions, will shape our communication.

For this Discussion, please respond to the following:

• Which barrier(s) to self-perception do you think present the most challenge to you in an organizational context? Please identify at least two.
• Based on the readings, how could you apply some of the guidelines to overcoming the aforementioned perceptual barriers?
