Unit VIII Assignment Destination Analysis A destination is an area of visitor appeal that includes attractions, accommodation services, and support services. It may be defined by physical, thematic, or administrative boundaries, and it embraces a set of distinctive images and qualities that give it a brand identity, which is recognizable by potential visitors. A key consideration of whether an area can and should be managed as a destination is whether it has a clear and distinctive identity that can be promoted and described to visitors and recognized by them. For this assignment, you will assume the role of the city marketing manager for a destination city in your state. As the destination manager, you should have a sound knowledge and assessment of all of the features of the city that relate to the visitor economy. Analyze the steps involved in the development of a destination market for the tourism/hospitality segment. Discuss what steps are necessary for a tourism/hospitality marketing business plan. Complete an analysis of your city as a destination. Your submission should be a minimum of two pages in length and should be formatted in APA style. You must use a minimum of two academic resources including your textbook.
